The Jerusalem Marathon is an annual marathon running event held in Jerusalem during the month of March. It is the largest international marathon held in Israel with visitors from Israel and abroad alongwith runners and spectators participate in this sporting and cultural event. The first full Marathon took place in March 2011 with 10000 participants from 40 countries and is being successfully conducted every year.
The race starts at Israel’s parliament, passes through Mount Scopus and the Old City, and finishes at Sacher Park. There are different tracks built specifically for runners with different ability and difficulty levels that combine beautiful and unique landscapes of Jerusalem – Full Marathon (42.2 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), 10 km, 5 km, Family Race (1.7 km), Communities (0.8 km).
Namaste Tourism, an initiative of Compact Travels Pvt Ltd and Official Tour Operator, now offers you the opportunity to run one of the largest international marathons in Israel.

Arrive at the Ben Gurion Airport where you will meet and be assisted by our representative and later transferred to your hotel.

Morning at leisure. Optional City tour can be arranged on request.
In the afternoon (1500 to 2100 hrs), collect your running kit distributed at the Sports and Health Exhibition in Jerusalem. [B]

20th March – FRIDAY
All race services and booths will open at 6:00 AM. The staging area at Sacher Park is located just 15 minutes walking distance from your hotel.
The services available at the Sacher Park are:
- Separate dressing rooms for men and women
- Three separate areas for free storage of personal belongings during the event, for marathon, half-marathon and 10 km runners. Please store your belongings in the correct area. Large bags cannot be stored.

21st March – SATURDAY: Tour to Masada and Dead Sea
Depart Jerusalem via the Judaean hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Visit a Dead Sea cosmetic products shop. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada and learn about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palace, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, roman baths and other findings. Descend by cable car. Continue to the Dead Sea; Enjoy the unique opportunity to float in the Dead Sea and cover yourself with the mineral rich mud that many believe has its therapeutic effects. Return to Jerusalem [B]
